The New Adventures were a series of books based on the TV series Doctor Who, and published by Virgin Publishing. After Virgin lost the Doctor Who license, they continued publishing featuring the character Bernice Summerfield, a former companion of the Doctor.
The New Adventures included novels by several Faction Paradox authors, including Lawrence Miles, Simon Bucher-Jones, Lance Parkin, and Kate Orman. Grandfather Paradox was first mentioned in Miles' New Adventure Christmas on a Rational Planet, and Miles' New Adventure Dead Romance has been republished in the Faction Paradox line by Mad Norwegian Press. Several other concepts and characters that later appeared in Faction Paradox made their first appearance in New Adventures books, most notably Chris Cwej.
