The Dodo was a flightless species of bird native to Earth which was known for being extinct. After it was declared extinct in the mid-17th century, the Dodo gradually came to be known as a mythic, monstrous, and mis-proportioned "thing".
Some folklore asserts that the first Faction Paradox embassy of 1752 took a preserved Dodo carcass.
By 1755, only one stuffed Dodo was known to exist. It was kept by the Royal Society in the British Museum. Due to its deteriorated and moth-eaten state, the stuffed Dodo was incinerated. Only its head survived. (PROSE: The Reliquary)
