Dicken's unfinished novel The Mystery of Edwin Drood was produced as a film by Faction Hollywood in the 20th century, and became the genesis of Production Hell. (PROSE: The Book of the War)

Charlie Dickens Edit

As part of a plot with the Celestis, Faction Paradox created a construct called "Charlie Dickens" from biodata and Dickens books. They equipped him with a shadow-pen with which he could "kill" John Gault — turning him into a Shift. He believed himself to be (a version of) the real Dickens, but one more appropriate to Amerika — his books focused on what he considered the "Real Men" of Amerika. He aimed to immortalise Gault in fiction, but Gault figured out his origins and tried to hang him along with the Engineer and other Faction members. There was a shootout, and Dickens's shadow stabbed Gault of its own volition. The Celestis offered to let Dickens join them, but Dickens declined. He stayed in Amerika, and the now-fictional Gault lived on only in Dickens's stories of rugged individualist heroism. (PROSE: Print the Legend)
